Mountain Lake, Minnesota, is a small village in Cottonwood county, southwestern Minnesota.  It is on old route 60 between Windom and St. James, which are larger towns.  In the early part of the 20ths century, it was still populated mostly by Mennonites, many of whom emigrated from Russia.  They were not Russian, but German speaking (plattdeutsch) peoples who came from western Europe.
