History

Neumünster was created in 1834 as an independent Protestant church parish from the church parish of Grossmünster. The three civil parishes of Hirslanden, Hottingen, and Riesbach established the church parish together. It replaced the filial Kreuzgemeinde church that had served the three civil parishes.
