Known Issues

Question #1: Why does the browse section for New York, Probate Records, 1629-1971, Chautauqua list a number of records for Wills when many of them are Probate records?
Answer #1: The Chautauqua Wills Section has some records mislabeled as Wills when they are actually records of Probates of Wills. The problem has been reported and should be rectified in a future rework of the collection. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Question #2: Where are the records from Dower, Madison County?
Answer #2: The records from Dower were mistakenly placed in Monroe County. You will find them listed in the file titled: Monroe, Dower Records 1830-1880.


Question #3: The images for Saratoga Wills for 1888-1890 are light. Is there a way to improve the legibility of these images?
