Question: Why does the browse section for New York, Probate Records, 1629-1971, Chautauqua list a number of records for Wills when many of them are Probate records?
Answer: The Chautauqua Wills Section has some records mislabeled as Wills when they are actually records of Probates of Wills. The problem has been reported and should be rectified in a future rework of the collection. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
