Over Darwen Holy Trinity was a chapel of ease built in the year 1826-27 and lay within the boundaries of the parish of Blackburn, being one of four chapels serving Over Darwen (as of 1885; see also St Peter, St James and St John the Evangelist).
Birth, marriages and deaths were kept by the government, from July 1837 to the present day. The civil registration article tells more about these records. There are several Internet sites with name lists or indexes. A popular site is FreeBMD.
