Personal Ancestral File (PAF) is a genealogy management software product provided free of charge by FamilySearch. PAF allows users to enter names, dates, source citations, image files and other source information into a database. That information can then be used to print forms and charts, such as family group records, pedigree charts, descendancy charts, and so on. PAF also allows you to share your genealogical files with other researchers using GEDCOM formatted files. It also links image files and media files to individual records. Downloads are available from FamilySearch Downloads. A complete list of all LDS Temple codes can be found at ldschurchtemples.com.

FamilySearch provides support for PAF. You can call support at 1-866-406-1830 or email support@familysearch.org.

Other Genealogy Software

There are dozens of other commercial genealogical software programs available for purchase. Each of these products provide their own unique approach to gathering, storing and using your data and image files to list sources, share data with others, and create various forms and reports.
