Chapel History

PENDLEBURY (St John the Evangelist), chapelry,in the parish of Eccles, Lancashire, union and hundred of Salford, S. division of Lancashire, 4¼ miles northwest by west of Manchester. Dedicated to St John, this chapel was built by the year 1842. In 1859, Christ Church Chapelry was created as well, in this township. There is a place of worship for Independents.[1]
