Question #1: Some marriage records link to the wrong image. Is there a way to find the correct image?
Answer #1: If the image link is incorrect, refer to the reference number (page number) on the record detail page to determine whether you should scroll forward or backward to find the correct image.
Question #2: I tried using the reference number to find the correct image without success. Is there a way to obtain a copy of the marriage certificate?
Answer #2: Occasionally an image is missed or restricted from being online. You may request a copy by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include the following record detail page information: name of the bride and groom, event date, event place, and film number. You can also order the film to view at a FamilySearch Center. See Ordering Microfilm or Microfiche.

Question #3: The browse folders only contain Digital Folder Numbers. How does this help me browse for the marriage records I am looking for?
Answer #3: The Digital Folder Numbers are what is called a “fake browse”. In order to find the marriage records you are looking for, search from the collection home page. You can
- Search by Last Names;
- Search by Life Events: Marriage, entering the county or town of interest, as well as marriage year range; and
- Search by Relationships: Spouse, entering all or part of the name.
Please review Document 106515 How to start a search from the Historical Records home page for basic search techniques. If you do not see the record(s) that you want, you can refine or filter your search results. See Document 114099 How to apply filters to your search results in Historical Records.
Question #4: Why are divorce records mixed in with marriage records?
Answer #4: In the original records, divorce records were occasionally recorded along with the marriage records.
Question #5: I am trying to find an image of a marriage record that I know can be found in the Luzerne County, PA Courthouse. Can you tell me how to find the record?
Answer #5: The records on the right side of the images 379-388 on DGS 4833171 which is from Luzerne County appear to have been missed in the indexing and therefore not in the Collection online. They are on the original microfilm #2224854 which can be ordered (See Ordering Microfilm and Microfiche) into a local FamilySearch Center and viewed there.
Question #6: I believe my ancestor has been indexed with the wrong bride. Can I verify this?
Answer #6: Because most of the records in collection have multiple records on an image, it was easy for an indexer to mix the records. If you find inconsistencies, it is always best to look at the original record on the image. It will be your best source.
