Photoduplication is a service provided for patrons that don't have local access to a Family History Center.  Additionally, some records may not be available to a local Family History Center, thereby qualifying patrons for services provided by Photoduplication.  In some cases records can be found online at familysearch.org or at books.familysearch.org.  Patrons should also consider searching records at a local library.  Family History Library staff will use this criteria prior to fulfilling cases.

The Family History Library now provides digital copies of items in the catalog. To request digital photocopies from the Family History Library you can now e-mail your request to Photoduplication@familysearch.org. If you can't seem to send an email at this address, please paste above email address into your email account and then send.

If you go to familysearch.org, click on "Catalog" and enter the film or book number, you can check to see if it is digitized.  If so, you can print off your own copies. If the film or book has been digitized, we will not fill a request as you can do this on your own.  We do not copy maps!  If you have access to a local LDS Family History Center, you can view the book from that library.  Below is a link to all family history locations throughout the world.  familysearch.org/locations . Please do not send links to pages!!  WE DO NOT DO RESEARCH!

You MUST include the Film or Fiche number, item number, Name of Individual you are researching, Title of record and name of parents, spouse, grantor, grantee, etc, Event type (Birth, Death or Marriage), Complete event date and place, Parish and volume or page number and registration or Certificate Number, and state or country of origin and any other information that will be helpful in locating your record.  Please use the old form until we get the new one online.

We must also have your complete name, address, telephone number and email address with each request.  Please let us know if you are new or a repeat patron and if your address, phone or email is new.

If you do not have access to a computer, you can either fax the request to 801-240-1584 or mail to: Photoduplication Unit, Family and Church History Department, 50 E North Temple St, Rm 599, Salt Lake City, Utah 84150-3400.

PLEASE LIMIT YOUR REQUEST TO FIVE (5) DOCUMENTS PER REQUEST PER MONTH!

Photocopies of works which are currently protected by copyright are limited to 10 pages or 10% of the work, whichever is less. We don't make copies of an entire work.

You may request copies of select pages from the index of a record. After you receive the index, you can send a second order requesting the specific pages you need.

There is no charge for this service AS LONG AS WE E-MAIL THE COPIES to you.  If we need to mail them, there is a $2.00 fee per copy with a $4.00 minimum charge per order which can be paid by check or credit card.
