Chapel History

Preston Christ Church was created a district chapel in 1836 from, and lying within the boundaries of Preston St John Ancient Parish.

The church in Bow Lane closed in 1963.

The Diocese of Blackburn is a Church of England diocese, covering much of Lancashire, created in 1926 from part of the Diocese of Manchester. The Diocese includes the towns of Blackburn, Blackpool, Burnley, and the cities of Lancaster, and Preston, as well as a large part of the Ribble Valley. 

PRESTON (All Saints), aparish, in the union of Cirencester, hundred of Crowthorne and Minety, E. division of the county of Gloucester, 1½ mile (E. S. E.) from Cirencester.[1]
