Missionary and Volunteer Opportunities
How Do I Get Started
The first step is to schedule an interview with the library directors, Pat and Brad Jensen, by calling 801-240-8031. The interview is important whether serving as a church service missionary or as a volunteer. Experience, availability, personal limitations, library needs, start date, hours per week, length of service, etc. will be discussed during the interview. Do not submit any papers until after the interview.
Church Service Missionary
Missionaries at the Riverton FamilySearch Library are required to serve at least two days per week, seven hours each day. There are no restrictions to the maximum number of service days per week, but total hours can be no more than thirty-five.
Generally, volunteers serve three to ten hours per week.
Length of Service
Missionaries serve for a minimum of six months, and can choose longer periods of time in six month increments. Volunteer service is flexible.
