History

Rupert was one of the first settlements established under the Minidoka Project, and in July,1906 a town site had been surveyed, and there were about one hundred people in the district. It is located on the north side of the Snake River. Rupert is also a station on the Minidoka and Wells branch of the Oregon Short Line Railroad and the terminus of the Rupert and Bliss branches of the line. The total population of the Rupert City was 2,250 in 1930.
