Parish History

SANDIACRE (St. Giles), an ancient parish, in the union of Shardlow, hundred of Morleston and Litchurch, S. division of the county of Derby, 9½ miles (E.) from Derby. There is a place of worship for Wesleyans. [1]

The township of Risley, Derbyshire was partially included in Sandiacre until about 1868.Long Eaton, Derbyshire St John received a small part of this parish in 1929.
