This collection contains baptisms, confirmations, marriages, burials, and other records from several Roman Catholic parishes in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. This collection covers church records created 1846-1957, but the content and time period of the records will vary by parish.

These records usually contain the following information:

Baptisms

  • Name of child
  • Name of parents
  • Locality of baptism
  • Date of baptism, sometimes date of birth
  • Name of parish where baptized

Marriages

  • Name of bride and groom
  • Name of bride’s parents
  • Name of groom’s parents
  • Residence of bride and groom
  • Date of marriage
  • Name of parish where married

Burials

  • Name of deceased
  • Name of spouse
  • Date of burial, sometimes date of death
  • Name of parish or cemetery where buried

How to Use the Record

To begin your search in the birth records, it would be helpful if you knew the following information:

  • Names of parents

To begin your search in the marriage records, it would be helpful if you knew the following information:

  • Ancestors name
  • Age of your ancestor

To begin your search in the burial records, it would be helpful if you knew the following information:

  • Approximate year of death
  • Name of Ancestor

Search the Collection

Browsing the Images

To search the collection you will need to follow this series of links:
⇒ Select the "Browse" link in the initial search page
⇒ Select the "Place" category
⇒ Select the "Name of Parish" category
⇒ Select the "Record type and year range" category which takes you to the images.

Look at each image one by one comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.

Using the Information

When you have found the information that you have been looking for, you can do the following:

Birth Records

  • Use the name of the child to search for a marriage record
  • Use the birth year to search for a census record
