Known Issues

Question #1: Some of the Cape Town marriage records appear to be mislabeled. Can you verify the correct browse point title?
Answer #1: The following is a list of browse point label errors:
Cape Town:

  • Marriage records 1923-192... vol 1/3/9/1/43-1/3/9/148 should be Marriage records 1923-192... vol 1/3/9/1/43-1/3/9/1/48
  • Marriage records 1924-192... vol 1/3/9/1/49-1/3/9/153 should be Marriage records 1924-192... vol 1/3/9/1/49-1/3/9/1/53
  • Marriage records 1926-192... vol 1/3/9/1/54-1/3/9/157 should be Marriage records 1926-192... vol 1/3/9/1/54-1/3/9/1/57

Question #2: The records found at browse point: Griekwastad > Marriage 1906-1933 vol 1/1/8/2/1/2 are for records starting in 1938. Where can I see the record for 1906-1933?
Answer #2: The Griekwastad > Marriage records 1906-1933 vol 1/1/8/2/1/2 are mislabeled and are found at Griekwastad > Marriage records 1938-1945 vol 1/1/8/2/1/1. Similarly, the Griekwastad > Marriage records 1938-1945 vol 1/1/8/2/1/1 are found at the browse point Griekwastad > Marriage records 1906 -1933 vol 1/1/8/2/1/2.

Question #3: Records found at Wynberg > Marriage records 1917-1919 vol 1/3/9/1/13-1/3/9/1/18, Marriage records 1919-1920 vol 1/3/9/1/19-1/3/9/1/24, and Marriage records 1920-1921 vol 1/3/9/1/25-1/3/9/1/30 appear to be from Cape Town. Should they be in the Wynberg browse point?
Answer #3: No, these records have been mislabeled and are from Cape Town.

Question #4: I get a message “No image available” for several records. How can I see the images?
Answer #4: FamilySearch does not have the contractual rights to display images from the following browse points and the browse points to these records will be removed. These records are not available on microfilm.
