Record Description

This collection will include records from 1784-1931. The collection is being published as images become available.

This collection includes civil registration, census, military and hidalguías (nobility) records in the cities and parishes of Arcos de la Frontera, Bornos, Cádiz, Espera, Gilbratar, Jerez de la Frontera, Medina Sidonia, Puerto de Santa María, Puerto Real, Rota, San Fernando, Tarifa, Vejer de la Frontera, Villamartín.

These municipal records may contain the following information:

  • Parents’ names

These census records usually contain the following information:

  • Names
  • Ages
  • Residence
  • Nationality or place of origin

These military draft records may contain the following information:

  • Name and age of draftee/soldier
  • Father's name
  • Mother's name
  • Residence

To search the collection you will need to follow this series of links:

⇒ Select the Ciudad o municipio
⇒ Select the Parroquia
⇒ Select the Tipo de registro y años which takes you to the images.

Look at the images one by one comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.
