This collection of various types of records (such as military drafts, censuses, hospital death records, wills, orphanage records, and nobility records) includes the years 1251-1950.
This collection contains miscellaneous records kept at the Archivo de la Diputación Provincial de Valencia, in Valencia, Spain. For the most part, records are handwritten in Spanish. Records created in earlier years may have some damage. This collection is being published as images become available. These records are the property of the Diputación de Valencia, ADPV.
The collection includes:
- Census records
- Military records
- Hospital death records
- Nobility records
- Orphan records
- Other miscellaneous records
The “Diputación de Valencia” is an institution composed of senators and other politicians, and is at the service of the provincial municipalities. This collection includes several types of records, which are housed at the Diputación Provincial de Valencia Archive.
Most of the types of records in this collection were created to record the historical events in the life of the people. Events were recorded in registers, which were to be kept for the history of civilians and for civilians’ and governmental benefits.
This collection includes a variety of records. Each is reliable depending on the reliability of the person supplying the information and the person creating the record.

- Name and age of soldier
- Date and place of birth
- Parents’ names
These census records usually contain the following information:
- Dates of birth
- Places of birth
These will records may contain the following information:
- Name of the testator
- Place of birth and residence of the testator
- Names and ages or dates of birth of the heirs
How to Use the Record
To search the collection you will need to follow this series of links:
⇒ Select the "Browse" link in the initial search page
⇒ Select the Provincia
⇒ Select the Ciudad o Municipio
⇒ Select the Parroquia
⇒ Select the Tipo de Registro y Años which takes you to the images.
Look at the images one by one comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.
The different types of records in this collection have different uses, but most can be used to search for information of ancestors that lived in the Valencia Province. Almost always, for any type of record, it is necessary to know the ancestor's complete name, or at least the surname, and some dates in the events of the life of your ancestor.
