Whenever possible, Family Search makes images available for all users. However, ultimate rights to view images on our website are granted by the record Custodians. The Sweden, Malmöhus Church Records, 1541-1918; index 1646-1860* collection is available to the Family History Library, FamilySearch Centers, and to members of the supporting organization, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The records can also be viewed at a FamilySearch Center near you.
*Please note: Currently the records in this collection can only be browsed. The index has not yet been published. The title of the collection reflects what the collection will eventually contain when the index are published.

Record Description

The collection consists of church records from the county of Malmöhus. It contains indexes to births, marriages, and deaths along with images of:

  • Clerical surveys
  • Registers of birth, marriage, and death
  • Move-in and move-out lists
  • Confirmations
  • Church accounts

The records are handwritten in narrative style. They cover the years 1541 to 1918; index 1646 to 1860.
