A Swedish härad is composed of several parishes and is the judicial unit which is responsible for the holding of the inventories of personal effects after the death of an individual.  The Family History Library Catalog also uses the härad division for arranging the parishes for the tax lists (census) purposes for cataloging.  This is done on a county by county basis.
