Minneapolis, MN 55407
The American Swedish Institute is a historic house, museum, and cultural center located near downtown Minneapolis. Swedish immigrant newspaperman Swan J. Turnblad founded the Institute in 1929 and also donated his mansion to the ASI which is now the museum.
A Scandinavian book and gift shop are also part of the Institute along with a coffee shop serving Scandinavian foods.
The microfilms formerly at the American Swedish Institute containing about one-half the Minnesota Swedish American ELCA Lutheran church records were relocated and are now available at the Minnesota Genealogical Society. Available by appointment with an appointed researcher of the Swedish Genealogical Society of Minnesota. Contact Virginia at email@example.com.
