Many commonly asked questions, such as indexing crossed out information, have already been answered - Click the Basic Indexing Instructions link on the Project Links page to read them. If you wish to post a mismatch directly to this page, please put it at the end of this list and include the batch number as the film cannot be evaluated without that information.)
(New 9/8) When reporting a batch where the data doesn't match the image, include which segment of the project it is from, such as Essex. This will help us identify the problem and be able to take care of it in a more timely fashion. We really appreciate your help in this matter.

Problem with 1871 Vessel Form. (Film number 004404359 Batch 60 ) Shared batch #139986837.
1.) Project Instructions are messed up for Vessel Forms. The Example for how to Index Vessel Form says to put Rank or Occupation in the Relationship to Head Field.
This is not normal. also, Current Vessel Forms have column titled "Rank or Occupation" which is different than the example.
2.) Occupation field is Required in Data Entry. The Vessel Form example says to Tab the Occupation field. That is not normal. Field Helps says if no occupation listed to <Blank> the field
Solution: Rank/Occupation should go in the Occupation field not Relationship to Head field. Also, just removed the relationship field from Data Entry for Vessel Census Forms.
Crossed off names
If a name has been crossed off should we enter it or just leave the line blank?
