Talk:Family Trees: An Online Research ToolEdit This Page
From FamilySearch Wiki
The main purpose of "Related Contents" is to cite links to substantially similar articles that discuss the same or nearly the same topic. So several of the items listed in the "Related Content" part of this article seem out of place. If they don't belong in "Related Content," they may be appropriate as links to some of the words within the rest of your text.
Because they do not mention family trees or pedigrees and seem to have little connection to the topic, please consider deleting the following itmes from Related Content:
- Document AS YOU GO!
- Copying Sources
- Guessing the Easiest to Research Person and Event
- Family group record: roadmap for researchers
But the following topics at least mention some of the concepts that come up in this article so keep them as a related topics:

Neutral Point of View (NPOV)
This is a good article. It makes some excellent points. Please continue to contribute to the Wiki. But . . .
Your article would be stronger if it were written from a more neutral point of view. Please look for ways to reduce references to your own personal experiences while still making the points the stories mean to convey. For example, instead of saying "I recently watched a webinar . . ." it might be better to say "Recently an Ancestry.com webinar taught . . ."
Another good place to learn about neutral point of view is found at Wikipedia.
Thank you for this article. Diltsgd 19:42, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
I made several changes to the body of the article. I would like to know if you still think some of the related content should be removed as I made mention to them in my article.
Thanks for the advice.
Your changes are good
Your article has a much improved neutral point of view. Good work. I hope you can see how that strengthened it.
As far as the related content, I'm still having a hard time seeing how "Copying Sources" is connected. But it is up to you. If you think the message of the "Copying Sources" is related to the message of "Family Trees: An Online Research Tool" then keep it in there. It won't be me that deletes "Copying Sources."
Thanks for this contribution. And continue to Be Bold! Diltsgd 01:12, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Your article was clear and quite helpful in explaining several things that had puzzled me over the past few years as I researched. ......especially the number of obvious errors that appeared in the lineage charts of some friends. I do appreciate your clarifying. Thank you! gypsylee77
