Why are there no sources listed for the index to PA births and christenings? Many of the records obviously came from church records of baptisms and marriages, others from courthouse records. A good genealogist should always be concerned about documentation. How can we document a birth that gives only the date, parents' names and location as Berks Co., PA. There are 43 townships in Berks Co. and hundreds of churches. When the record was indexed, the indexer obviously had access to the source. Why can that not be cited? Otherwise, the information just comes from yet another computerized database with information that cannot be verified from existing primary sources.
