'''Question #1''': Why are there two Texas Deaths collections with the same years?<br>'''Answer #1''': The entire collection has been reworked. This means that the records were re-filmed, re-indexed, and re-linked. Several thousand new records were found and those have been indexed and linked to images as well. The new browse is organized by record type, date and certificate number. This should be much more helpful than the DGS browse provided earlier. The new collection is titled Texas Deaths (New Index, New Images), 1890-1976 the old collection is simply titled Texas Deaths, 1890-1976. Both collections have been left online temporarily to allow patrons and support staff to transition from one collection to another. We appreciate the patrons who provided feedback and helped to make this endeavor possible. We hope you will enjoy the much improved images and newly indexed records.
