Chapelry History

Toxteth Park was originally an extra-parochial district possessing at least eight chapels of ease--of which St Michael's was one. St Michael's was originally created a chapel if ease and stood within the parish boundary of St Nicholas Liverpool. It was built in 1817; dedicated in 1818; Became Ecclesiastical Parish created in 1898 from Walton on the Hill.

TOXTETH-PARK, an extra-parochial district, in the union and hundred of West Derby, S. division of Lancashire; forming the south or south-eastern suburb of the town of Liverpool.[1]
