County Courthouse

History

Parent County

Trinity County was created and organized 11 February 1850 from Houston County. Courthouses and most county records were destroyed by fire in December 1872 and February 1876. County seat: Sumpter (1850-1873); Trinity (1873-1874); Pennington (1874-1883); Groveton (1883-present). The first Anglo-American settler arrived in 1844.
