Usually people start their search for a death date by trying to locate a death certificate.

Step 1=

Clickable death Certif graphic. [1] Graphic that when clicked takes to "best" statewide index.  Graphic should highlight"state of Utah".    For post 1887 go to the Utah Vital REc-death page https://www.familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Utah_Vital_Records#Death_Records

Step 2

Pre ? or death certifdoesn't exist?  Many rec ypes give death INFORMATION, if "real" death records don't exist for the time period your ancestor died (aka pre ) or if you can't find a "real" death record go to  a discussion on  Utah record types have death INFORMATION. The Table of Contents on that page ranks the "best" death information record types first.
