Mandate/Holdings: historical records of Missisquoi County. United Empire Loyalists and early New England immigrants, pioneer documents, a large collection of family histories, letters, photographs and daguerreotypes, diaries, family Bibles and a great number of genealogical records for some families going back to the 19th Century. Copies of 19th century newspapers…cemeteries of the area…land grants. There are records of many early businesses and professionals.
Published Guides: The Missisquoi Historical Society’s Annual Reports and other published collections of essays, photos and articles, are an important (though unindexed) source for family historians; there are over 20 volumes. A “Finding Aid” was published in 1985-86.
