Hello HawkBlade,

In perusing the candidates for Featured Articles (FAC), I noticed that you were the original contributor and might still have an interest in improving the article, "England Births and Christenings."

Here is my main question and suggestion: I wondered to what "Index" one is referring throughout the article in general and in various categories. The records would be more easily understood and searchable if "this index" or "the record", was clearly delineated. The reader can only surmise that "the record" or "index" is connected with the "England Births and Christenings," If the reader arrived at a particular heading, the reference would be unclear and confusing. I certainly do not wish to take upon myself to interpret the originators' references, so would you help and others who created the article help clarify? Your help and hard work are always appreciated. [[FamilySearch Wiki:Featured Article Committee|Glo]]

Please see [[England, Kent, Land Tax Assessments (FamilySearch Historical Records)]] edits. You may also find the discussion page interesting. I have edited your reference to the 1841 census; in rural parts of the county it may be possible to link settled occupancy in one place; in the industrial development of towns this is often difficult and as you will gather from the discussion the Waypoints need detailed explanation for several lathes and hundreds. It may also be useful to place industrial expansion into the record description as it significantly affects the Land Tax records due to movement of population 1780-1832.Our colleague has edited to describe the record and changes in appearance of the images that can now be seen; the "borough of" images need a content table to link them to parish pages; we await response on that question.

Glo
