Have finished the text part of the Introduction, From 1846 To 1863, From 1863 To Now, and the Spanish and Mexican portions. Created the maps and have downloaded some of them to FS as they seem unable to take more than 4 at any one time. The animated GIFs not acceptable to FS Wiki. Added links to this article from the History section of all Arizona county articles and from the Parent Counties article.

Have finished the text and maps for the Introduction, From 1846 To 1863, From 1863 To Now, and the Spanish and Mexican portions. Have created two more maps to replace two of the ones already approved by FS. Want to find the land patents for each of the Mexican Land Grants and add those as references. I'm curious to know why you have deleted the graphics on the Help:[[Help:Adding images to articles|Adding images page]]. I would think that the graphics would be helpful to anyone learning how to insert images, especially beginners. Sometimes, a picture is worth a thousand words. I know you thought the FCK editor doesn't work for inserting images, but it does. It has not been changed. A few months ago when they tried to change to a new editor, some of the preferences got changed. If you go to Personal Tools and then My Preferences, you'll see an option for Editing and then down the page, it has boxes you can click for Use external editor. Make sure those aren't marked and you should be able to use the FCK editor just fine. Well, at least, I got you to the right place! On the History page, you can do it a couple ways. If you click on Rollback, it should take the page back to where it was when the last person before you edited it. The graphics are there on that version. Of you can go to the first revision you did on the 6th and click on Prev. When the two versions come up, click on (Edit) on the column on the left and then save the page. It will take it back to that version before you took out the graphics. Let me know if you can't make it work. [[User:Averyld|averyld]] 23:52, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Ideas to show the previous jurisdictions on the land that became Arizona

  • Create a series of maps showing previous jurisdictions that will cover roughly the following three time periods
    • Spain and Mexico maps will show jurisdictional boundaries (if any). Also possibly will show land grants and when granted, only those actually accepted by the US will be included.
    • New Mexico Territory maps will show the counties created, 11 maps when changes were made to counties.
    • Arizona (Territory and State) maps will show the counties created, 17 maps when changes were made to counties.
  • All of the above maps will have the present day Arizona (with all it counties) superimposed for reference.
  • All the above maps were placed in an animated GIF format, which automatically cycled thru all the maps. But this would not work for the FS Wiki.
  • For each of the above maps, give an explanation of the jurisdictional changes and where the record repositories are.
  • All the above to be placed in the Family Search Wiki on a new article, linked from Arizona.
  • Make sure that the History section of all Arizona county articles explain all previous jurisdiction changes and give record repositories (revise as necessary).
  • Make a link to the new article above.

Have finished the text and maps for the Introduction, From 1846 To 1863, From 1863 To Now, and the Spanish and Mexican portions. Have created two more maps to replace two of the ones already approved by FS. Want to find the land patents for each of the Mexican Land Grants and add those as references. Later I want to remove the Arizona Land 1863 - Now from my article and add to the article called Arizona County Creation Dates and Parent Counties.

FS as they seem unable to take more than 4 image files at any one time. Animated GIFs not acceptable to FS. But this information is not readily accessable in their Guidelines.

Utah Cemeteries

Dear Gene Sabin,

Thanks for your thoughts. I changed the names of the links and added explanations. There are suggestions and links to other resources. Please check to see if the changes will address your concerns and ideas.

I found some of the links not working. On one of the websites, all of their links were broken and I could not find them. I moved ones that were only counties sites to the counties wiki sites.

Thanks for helping. Hopefully we will here from you at the Utah.

Hi, Sabwoo,

Apparently we disagree on where the Utah page should go to the Utah burial Database. When we are sending the patron to the search page for a person, I feel they should go directly to the page where they enter the names. Please give me a call so we can discuss the page.

Thanks for helping on Utah pages!

Hi, Sabwoo, We noticed several edits in Washington County, Utah that you made, and really appreciate how you are clarifying and cleaning up some of the content. We have a project going for Utah. Our purpose is to get great, understandable content, to collaborate with people like yourself, and to create a "pattern" of basics for counties that other people can follow for their counties, if they wish. Subpages

Currently, subpages are not implemented in the FamilySearch Research Wiki. We have discussed them at length and the conclusion has always been that they should be excluded. You are welcome to go to the Forums and start the discussion over again, if you wish. Thanks for asking.
