Welcome to Utahnancy's talk page, I'm looking forward to getting to know you. Feel free to talk anytime.
Hi Nancy ... I saw the question you added to Davidmlam's User Page and wanted to let you know that your User Page is ready for you to create. The message "You have followed a link to a page that does not exist yet" is a little misleading ... it simply means it hasn't been created yet by the page owner. If you click on your User Page, under that message you will see the editor box, and you can just start typing in there just like you do on any page. Once you save any content the first time, that "does not exist yet" message will go away. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Nancy, we have deleted some of the user pages that were created, and only left the ones you will need. Jenson1
Welcome to the wiki! I saw the following questions on another page and noticed that you had some questions so thought I would bring them over here to your talk page and answer them if I could. It's exciting to see you coming into the wiki and doing so much already! janellv
Hello I'm Nancy
I have many questions (and some goals coming to my mind) that I'm sure I will eventually figure out but I'm writing them down;
What types of projects can be created? Is there a log on the Family Search site where users can hunt for their ancestors life story (articles) I'm a descendant of Daniel Henrie and I have many stories from my family members that I would like to share but don't know if these stories are already placed somewhere on the site. If, not I would like to start such an area. Users could put their family surname in a search box and find stories, articles on their family members, is this already available here? Does the editor tool have a spell check? I can't seem to find it
- 1. Types of projects - any and all! Here's a list of current projects in the works in the wiki. What types of projects would you like to help with? We have two main types of projects - "content" projects to help build up the "how to research" in the wiki, and "support/maintenance" projects which help us keep the wiki running smoothly. What would you like to see?
- 2. I think Jenson1 answered this question for you already but no, the wiki isn't really a place to give personal information about your ancestors. It's more about giving research guidance to lead people to the records their ancestors are in.
- 3. No, no spell check, unfortunately. That would sure be nice though! Click on the orange Feedback link over on the right side of the screen and submit that as an idea of something you would like to see.
Let us know if you have any other questions. Also, the Contributor Help forums are a great place to go if you have questions not related to a specific page in the wiki.
