Hi, Joy! Are you available tomorrow? I'll plan to be there from 10:30-11:30 or 12. Does that work for you? Are you being allowed to continue on the Utah project? I have not wanted to interfere, what with changes happening. What changes ARE happening? Would surely enjoy another "brainstorm" with you and others. AdkinsWH 21:33, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

I certainly hope you two had a wonderful Christmas! want to know the "who's and what's" on Wednesday.

Well, after a long delay, I finally started on some of the ideas with you and Sister Hagburg last Wednesday. Something for you and I to play with more. See county sandbox

Here's some icons and colors thought of so far:

  • Those sub-headings in the light blue text box, as we mentioned? (no icon)
  • What about a light bulb icon and the word "Ideas" when we have suggestions--in a yellow text box?
  • What icon and color for "informational stuff"? An FYI?
  • Also what icon and color for "cautions"? (Red is pretty dark)

I loved doing this with you and Sister Hagburg last week! But I surely ignored Sister Steven's requests. Hope things worked out for her. AdkinsWH 19:37, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

You are finding the most wonderful images, Joy! I like the Kiva -- thought it was a huge dinasaur print at first!. AdkinsWH 20:24, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Hey, Joy! Thanks for the new image on the Utah project page!AdkinsWH 17:52, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Joy, Where do I like my messages? What I need to do is create myself a sandbox instead of how I have it. I really like messages at the top. Just go ahead and put them above my practice area, which I will move. Thanks again so very, very much!AdkinsWH 22:21, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Joy! (to the world) You did an awesome job yourself on Beaver County. Right on! I had one other change forgotten previously, so just went ahead and made it on all counties. Thanks for your words of encouragement -- and pointing out areas I don't explain well enough. You are in the right place at the right time for me! You -- and your attitude -- are just right. Keep up the great work. AdkinsWH 22:39, 7 December 2011 (UTC) PS do you want me to post to the end instead of the beginning?

Joy, (Great picture, by the way!) Thanks for the posting you have done to Salt Lake. There are a couple of tweaks. Will you call me at 801-278-4806? I'll try getting your number in the meantime. AdkinsWH 20:09, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Joy, Featuring the WikiProject Utah page in November is GREAT! Thank you. AdkinsWH 15:14, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

Joy, would it be possible for you in your role as a member of the Welcoming Committee to offer contributors some guidance about the use of Copyright site material; British History Online is a site claiming copyright which moderators have objected to. See Cromwell, Nottinghamshire for an example of a time consuming series of edits needed to restore image captions and remove copyright material. I have asked the contributor responsible if they can rework some of their edits and their user talk page contains some examples of Nottinghamshire pages which have been corrected for them to work on. The work involved in re-editing allows the Nottinghamshire team and others to add appropriate content but it does deflect us from planned work for the county. Thank you for your help in supporting the contributor concerned. Royalsarah

WELCOME!!!! to the " WELCOMING COMMITTEE "

Hi Joy,

Much thanks to you, each of you, who have spent time in the Wiki with our authors and editors and all else that you do. It has helped the Wiki to grow. The Research Wiki is in its first years but it is growing and becoming a wonderful tool that helps people find answers and costs only in effort to search on their part.
We want to improve the process for Welcoming new authors and editors in the Wiki. I want to make each member of the committee aware of some improvements coming in June:
• We will have one Welcome Message Template designed to be more individualized. We hope that you will use this new welcome message. Steve Cottrell will be helping us with this.
• Please read more carefully what the contributor or editor has put on the page. The current steps listed for reviewing the contributions are good to follow.
• Avoid adding the welcome message before following the steps outlined.
• Additional items will be added in June to help the committee members know how to review the articles authored and edited by our wiki users.
.• The "question template" will stay the same.

Dawne

Please put a welcome to the Wiki to Brennejb.,  Thank-you Sandralpond 15:57, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Reversed edit to {{Add-desc-I}}

Hi Joy, I have reversed your recent edit to {{Add-desc-I}}. This is a meta-template and the edits that you made should be made to template contained on the description page for File:Sebastian.jpg. Let me know if you need further assistance. --Steve (talk | contribs) 15:55, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks from the wiki:

The FamilySearch Research Wiki is delighted to let you know that the gold stars you added to all the Featured Article pages is beautiful and much appreciated, especially by those contributors who are highlighted on the Main Page of the Wiki. Your choice of visuals for the "Papua New Guinea" article were so colorful and appropriate. Thank you for your excellent work to help users enjoy the sites and feel valued. Your contributions make a positive impression.
You continue to made a difference in research!

Thanks!

Joy, thanks again for the marvelous pictures that give such personality to the wiki articles. You are a "life saver"! Glo

Change of image`

Hi Joy, I've changed the image used on the page FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject which was also being used on the Main Page as it is being featured this week from the one that represents help/support to one with a better representation of projects. --Steve (talk| contribs) 19:12, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Removed Stub

Joy,

Have removed the stub on Humboldt County, Nevada .   Thanks for all the great work. Sandralpond 16:51, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

Award on Jbparker userpage

Hi Joy, I noticed that you've added an award to Jimmy's userpage. What you've actually done is added a copy of the whole template. To add an award just use the code {{User Gold Star|citation=}} adding the citation phrasing you wish. An example is give on the template page. --Steve (talk| contribs) 16:16, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

New York Wiki Project Page

Linda and I were wondering why you changed the picture we just barely put in? Linda is from New York and thought it would be a good idea to portray a part of New York as well as the city. So, we put in a picture of the countryside just an hour or so ago. And now, lo and behold, suddenly it is changed. So, hopefully you won't mind that we are changing it back. We are smiling while writing this, so I hope you know we aren't upset, just think it is funny that it happened so quickly.

Germany Wiki

The major work will not commence until at least Jan 2012 per the moderator, Baerbel Johnson. Until then, there will be minor corrections and additions as needed. Dsammy 18:50, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

Headings on County Pages for Utah

hI wYZER17,

We appreciate the discussions and decisions made by a community of experts and interested parties regarding headings on the county pages especially for New York and Illinois, We want to adopt many of those changes and adapt some specifically for Utah.
Will you please review the page for FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject Utah County Headings county headings in Utah and make comments on its discussion page?

Some volunteers for WikiProject Utah have already begun adapting the county pages. Your great suggestions will be implemented later, and we need to move now to prepare for a big push in January.

Making your comments on the discussion page will allow for transparency, progress and improvement.

Thank you Wilma Adkins, WikiProject Utah manager; Marilyn Markham and Patsy Hendrickson, content specialists; and Dawne Hole and Wyzer17 (Joy), communications and volunteers liaisons.

"RE: Bo and I have just finished "letters" to all 2011 Utah contributors. I will work on the excel sheet with all the data you have requested. Timelines are being worked on and I'll get the GenWeb links completed by the end of next week." Wow, Joy! What progress you, Bo, and all have made! I am THRILLED!
