Villard County, North Dakota was formed 08 Mar 1883 by Dakota Territory in present North Dakota from Billings Territory area. Then on 10 Mar 1885 it gained territory from several areas. Villard County, North Dakota was formed 08 Mar 1883 by Dakota Territory in present North Dakota from Billings Territory area. Then on 10 Mar 1885 it gained territory from several areas. Finally on 13 Mar 1887 it lost all territory to Billings County and Stark County and Villard County, North Dakota became extinct. [1]
