FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.


The Woodville Familysearch center(also known as the Woodville Family history center) is a branch of the Familysearch Library.  If you live in Tyler county, or if you have ancestors from here, we may be able to help you! Just call the number below or come by during open hours. This family history center serves the Woodville branch of the Church of Jesus Christ-of-latter-day-saints.

Directions

Directions from the courthouse:

First, head north on Hwy 69.  Then, turn on hwy 287.  Just keep driving until you see the Church on your right.  Then turn into the church parking lot(The family history center is inside).

Consultants

  • Experienced family history consultants are available to help with genealogy

Collections

  • Online resources are available, as well as local funeral and cemetary records and a few books
  • We also have pedigree charts and family group sheets. 


Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions. 
  • The Woodville family history center has the Familysearch indexing program on all of it's computers. 
  • Libre office, We have Libre office for making flyers to hand out. 

Hardware and Equipment

We have computers, a copy-machine, and printers.(Note: plans are currently being made to purchase a microfilm viewer. so one may be available soon)

These are the rules we would ask you to obey while in the family history center:

1. No drinks near the computers

2. Please sign in and out

3. Always where a shirt and pants(or skirt, or shorts, etc.)

4. Please talk to a consultant before downloading new software on the computer
