Due to the lack of vital records and the difficulty of locating church records, court and probate records are valuable tools. These records can help link individuals into family units and, in some cases, flesh out the family history and breathe life into our ancestors. This course will discuss what court records may be valuable in family history research and what is included in probate records.
Many feel land records only indicate where and how much land your ancestor owned. However, there are times when these records may assist in linking families. In this short lesson state and county land records will be discussed and where these records can be located and what information they may contain.
