If you are looking for the probate record or will of your ancestor in England before 1858, you need to understand the court system that probated estates at that time. You need to know how to determine what court to search and how to find indexes to its records in order to determine if your ancestor’s estate was probated. This lesson will instruct you in these three areas. Once you have completed this lesson you will be ready to find a probate document. Part 1 of 3
