You may have asked yourself: “I know I am using the right information, but I just can’t find anything. What should I do?” “What is an ‘index’?” Even when you are sure you are searching with correct information, it can feel like you’ve hit a brick wall if there seem to be no existing records for your ancestor. In this episode, Jesse and Tom will show you how expanding your search using indexes and other tools can help you successfully discover your ancestor’s “hidden” records. You will learn how to find your ancestor using the names, locations, and topics found in indexes.
There are 11 individualized lessons that anyone can do to learn all of the basic and intermediate functions of Family Tree. There are written lessons and videos that when used together give the best experience. However, many individuals prefer just to watch the videos or just to do the written material. Some people do the whole set of lessons and then come back and review when they run into a problem and others only look at the material when they experience a problem and do not know what to do. You are free to use these videos and lessons as needed for your own Family Tree learning and training needs. The owner of these lessons keeps them as current as possible. However, he cannot accept requests to customize these lessons or videos for any specific group or individual.
