*Jane Westover's baptism and ancestry in England are from a chart included in a typescript by Randall Murrill, "Genealogy of Westover Families of Missouri ([n.p.1974]5). copies of which are in the New England Historic Genealogical Society library, Boston, and elsewhere. The chart also shows dates of baptism for Jane's seven siblings, including Jonas Westover (bp. 4 May 1628), who also came to New England. See also, Somerset Parish Registers Marriages (15 vols. Jonas Westover, called Sergeant in probate entries, in his will dated Sept. 20, 1702, probated Mar 7, 1708/9, mentioned his wife, two sons, Jonah and Jonathan, and daughters, Margaret, Hannah, Jane, Mary, but no mention was made of daughter Elizabeth. Executors of the estate were son Jonah and son-in-law Samuel Case. The inventory was taken Jan. 26, 1708/9, and on this paper is written that Jonah Westover died Jan. 14 (15) 1708. A distribution of lands was made to the two sons, dated March 1715, and exhibited in court May 3, 1720, but no mention was made of the daughters.

Will dated 20 September, 1702.I, Jonah Westover, Sen., being very sick, do make this my last will and testament: I give to my wife £10 out of my personal estate; also the house and household goods that are necessary for her use during life; also 1/3 part of my land to her order during life. Also, all my land that I stand possessed of, I give to my two sons Jonah and Jonathan, to be equally divided between them; also my housing, after their mother's decease. I do will unto my daughters that each of their portions (with what they have received) shall be £15. What has been paid to my daughters already: to Margaret, £5; to Hannah, £3; to Jane £2-12-06; to Mary, £9-00-06. I appoint my son Jonah and my son-in-law Samuel Case to be executors.
