Joseph Henry Hill was born on 31 January 1823 in Albermarle County, Virginia and died on 19 September 1873 in Covesville, Nelson County, Virginia. His parents were Thomas Delaware Hill and Susannah Brown Roberts. Joseph married Serena Louise Landrum on 16 May 1855 in Amherst County, Virginia. Serena, daughter of Richard Landrum and Mary Hickok, was born on 11 March 1837 in Amherst County, Virginia and died on 10 July 1909 in Naola, Virginia. Ancestors and descendants resided primarily in England and Virginia.
