Notes

A record of some of the descendants of James Isham Gideon. He was born in Cork, Ireland in 1749. He came to America in 1764 and settled in Roanoke County, Virginia. He married Pattie Mills of Wilkes County, North Carolina, in 1770. He later moved to Wilkes County, North Carolina. They were the parents of seven children. He died in 1832 in Hawkins County, Tennessee. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Indiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, and elsewhere.
