Silas A. Burris was born in 1816 in Tennessee. He married Judith Judah Baxter, daughter of William Baxter and Nancy McKamey, 16 March 1844 in Anderson County, Tennessee. They had eight children. He married Phebe Daugherty (1844-1922) 21 November 1881. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Illinois and Tennessee.
