Reverend David Linsay immigrated from England to Northumberland Co., Virginia between 1645 and 1655, and died in 1667. Some descendants moved to North Carolina, Kentucky, Washington, D.C. and elsewhere. Others of the surname lived in the New England states and spread westward.
