Joost Jansen Van Meteren was born in about 1656 in Meppel, Drenth, Holland. He married Sarah DuBois 12 December 1662 in Kingston, New York. They had eight children. Joost died in 1706 in New Jersey. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio. Illinois and Indiana.
