John Hamond immigrated from England to Virginia in 1634, later returning to England, and then back to Virginia. Some of his children, raised in England, also immigrated to Virginia, and John Hammon (1760-1868), who died at the age of 108, was a direct descendant. John was born in Virginia, and lived in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Ohio, before returning to Owen County, Kentucky to the home of a daughter.
