Notes

Alexander Chesnutt was born between 1720 and 1725 in Isle Wight County, Virginia. His parents were John Chesnutt and Betsy Driver. He married Sarah Murphrey, daughter of John Murphrey and Anne. They had five known sons, Joshua, Joseph, Alexander, Thomas and Needham. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Texas.
