Special Agent Roblin was sent to Western Washington following an act of Congress which provided for allotments of land for people who could prove they were members of local tribes. Agent Roblin review applications for allotment and enrollment, requested additional information and evidence and interviewed as many of the applicants as possible.

These records include the applications and evidence. They were not in any particular order originally, but for purposes of this filming by the National Archives, the records were grouped first by tribe, then arranged alphabetically by surname.
