John Thomas Wootton was born 28 July 1872 in Boydton, Virginia. His parents were John T. Wootton (1822-1876) and Indiana E. Rogers. (1835-1898). He married Sarah Elizabeth Allgood (1882-1942), daughter of Edward A. Allgood and Sarah Jane Hendrick, 21 February 1900. They had seven children. He died in 1941. Ancestors and relatives lived mainly in Virginia.
