Joseph Parker (d. 1789) was born before 1726 (probably in Nansemond County, Virginia), married Catherine Hinton, and moved to Chowan County, North Carolina, later moving to Gates County, North Carolina. Nathaniel Gabriel Parker (1819-1890), a grandson, married Mary Ann Powell, and lived in Gates County, North Carolina. Descendants and relatives of Joseph lived in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Illinois and elsewhere.
