Filming contracted by the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah.

The obituary file was compiled by the WPA in the 1930's. Toledo and area obituaries published in the Blade were copied and typed for a file. The work was continued under the direction of the Local History division where the file is housed. With approximately 300,000 cards in the file in 1969 it was decided to start a new file Jan. 1, 1970 and transfer cards dating from 1837-1969 to book form. Work on the project began in 1970.

Record includes name, address, date of death, date of newspaper, and age.
