Nathan Byars (1749-1846) was born in Grantsville County, North Carolina, and married twice. After his Revolutionary War service, he moved to Rutherford County, North Carolina and then to Spartanburg District, South Carolina, and married twice. Descendants and relatives through the seventh generation lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi and elsewhere.
